Awakening

Water spray on your face.
Blackness.
Salt in your mouth.
Sounds echoing around.
Blackness.
And then movement.
Sight?
Blurs…
Slowly they resolve to blues and grays. Water? Sand?
A sense of self lags behind sight.
You become aware that you don’t know who you are.
You become aware that you don’t know where you are.
Or what’s happening.
Your mind begins to exert itself. Am I waking? Am I home? Where is home? Where is this? Who am I?
Your body. You feel it. Limp. Sprawled. On stones and sand. You look out and see ocean waves and it slowly comes to you.
Shipwrecked.
Broken.
Lost.
